After more than two decades working at the intersection of Application Security (AppSec) and business growth, I am incredibly excited to share that I’ve joined Cycode as the Vice President of Sales for EMEA. Now, more than ever, this work feels critical with 93 billion lines of code being created every year. It’s the foundation of critical systems across industries, and protecting it – and the applications it powers – is mission critical for businesses.
As the first sales leader in this region, I’m eager to help Cycode’s customers ensure cyber resilience and business continuity with our complete approach to Application Security Posture Management (ASPM).
Why I Believe in ASPM
Over 20 years ago, I co-founded a consulting and system integration company focused on AppSec, working with businesses to uncover and address vulnerabilities in their applications. Back then, “shift-left” testing was more of an idea than a practice, and we often had to deal with security issues late in the software lifecycle. While early application security scanners like Webinspect and Appscan made a small dent in the problem, teams still struggled with tool sprawl, late-stage testing, and development delays.
Fast forward to today, and the stakes are higher than ever.
Every company is a software company, and companies in every industry depend heavily on code. It powers everything from banking systems to self-driving cars.
As a result, code production has been accelerating at an unprecedented rate, especially with the rise of AI-assisted development. This exponential growth in code production comes with an exponential increase in vulnerabilities.
That’s why ASPM is so critical in today’s landscape, and why I believe it’s the future of secure software development. It addresses the root of these challenges, bringing all tools, data, and insights into one platform and giving organizations the visibility, prioritization, and remediation capabilities they need to secure their code early and efficiently.
