We’re excited to announce a new feature in Cycode that enhances the security of AWS S3 storage. Our S3 scanning feature scans the contents of files stored in AWS S3 buckets for potential vulnerabilities, such as exposed secrets and sensitive data. This helps organizations mitigate the risk of sensitive data exposure, which happens when data is unintentionally dumped into logs or files by CI/CD tools or human error.

Setting up the S3 scanning feature in Cycode is a breeze. Users can integrate their AWS account with Cycode, or grant the required file storage permissions using the integration page. Once the integration is complete, users can select the desired buckets to be scanned by clicking on the File Storage Scanning option in the Cycode console. In case of any identified vulnerabilities, Cycode will immediately notify the organization by a medium of choice (push notification, automatic ticket creation etc), and raise a violation in the console, allowing them to take corrective measures promptly.

API Key

Our S3 scanning feature requires read-only permissions, ensuring that sensitive data is not modified during the scanning process. Users have complete control over which buckets are scanned, providing organizations with the flexibility while ensuring the security of their data stored in the cloud.

For more information on setting up and using the S3 scanning feature in Cycode, book a demo with our team, or if you are already logged in the platform, check out the full documentation that provides details on the setup process, usage instructions, and additional information on the feature.

In conclusion, Extending scanning capabilities to detect secrets in cloud file storage further supports Cycode’s mission of identifying risk across all stages of the SDLC from code to cloud. It provides organizations with a more comprehensive solution for securing their cloud infrastructure. Try out our S3 scanning feature and enhance the security of your AWS S3 storage!
